Arguably the greates economist the United States has ever produced. During the 1930's he was the greatest proponent of the Chicago Plan, wrote several short books about it, wrote the Act for Congress, and generally spent time and effort promulgating it. It was opposed by the large banks of the time, largely for reasons not relevant anymore today. It has been said that it would take another serious economic downturn to finally enact it. What is represented on this website is essentially that plan with modernisations due to today's complexity.
